In a two run game the SSB SSB Tar Heels got by the Tampico Stogies by the
score of 8 to 6.
Zach Miner(3-5) did what was required of him in relief and came away with the
win. He allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in 3 and 2/3 innings. Tampico had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Miner got help from Brad Lidge who earned his 29th save. Jose Veras(0-1) was
tagged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks without
retiring a batter.
'You have to give Tampico credit, they fought us tough to the end' Craig
Ahrndt said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
